Trip Details

DAY 01:

Depart from Huaraz at 2 AM for a scenic 6-7 hour drive to Queropalca, crossing a high pass at 4,750 meters. Arrive at Queropalca (3,800 m) and begin the 3-4 hour hike (8 km) to Carhuacocha (4,100 m).

After breakfast, hike to the famous Siula Lakes viewpoint, reaching the 4,800-meter pass. Continue for 15 km to the Huayhuash campsite at 4,300 meters.

Ascend to the Trapecio Pass (over 5,000 meters) in 3.5 hours, followed by a 3-hour descent. Enjoy spectacular views with optional excursions to the glacier and multicolored lakes. After lunch, there is an optional hike to the San Antonio Pass (5,100 meters). Camp at Elefante (4,400 meters).

Visit the base camp of the famous “Touching the Void” story, passing through incredible landscapes and reaching a pass with panoramic views at approximately 4,800 meters. Descend to Huayllapa village (3,600 meters), where local accommodation is available. The trek covers 18-20 km.

Travel back to Huaraz (or Lima) with an 8-9 hour drive, arriving between 12 PM and 2 PM.
